In memorandum of coach Jonathan MacDonald

It is with great sadness that Glacier Ski Club says goodbye to U16 OCup coach Jonathan MacDonald.

Jonathan died on January 7, 2022. Jonathan was passionate about alpine skiing and he was a hard-working coach who helped many racers develop and reach their personal milestones.

Jonathan's cheerful and easy-going personality made him an approachable and popular coach among athletes, fellow coaches, and parents. He was always available and open to sharing technical, equipment and tactical tips with athletes of all ages. At Glacier Ski Club Jonathan will always be remembered for pushing an injured athlete's wheelchair during the athletes' parade at the 2019 Whistler Cup. He wanted to make sure that his athlete enjoyed the whole experience just like the others!

In addition to his duties with Glacier Ski Club, Jonathan volunteered his time for the NZ Foundation Wednesday nights training and worked on high school and other races at Mount St. Louis Moonstone. Over the years he was also highly involved with para-alpine athletes at several levels in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and nationally.

Glacier Ski Club wishes to assist Johnathan's children, Lynn and Logan, to further their education by raising funds to contribute to RESPs in their names.

We ask that you please assist us with this fundraising effort to celebrate Johnathan’s life. Please use the following link to donate https://gofund.me/9a49c191

The Glacier Board of directors thank you for your kind donations and support and also wishes to extend its recognition to our fellow director Doug Carter for his leadership with this initiative.
