FIS Program

FIS Program Overview

Glacier Ski Club is a competitive alpine ski racing program operating at Mount St. Louis Moonstone (MSLM) near Barrie. MSLM is widely recognized as having one of the longest ski seasons and some of the best snow in Southern Ontario.

Glacier coaching staff is comprised of highly qualified and experienced coaches, having both national and international racing (including at the Division I-NCAA, Canadian Development Team and World Cup level) and coaching experience (with among others, the Ontario Ski Team and the SOD Ski Team).

The Glacier FIS program is primarily designed around Ontario and Quebec FIS race series, giving athletes 20 to 25 race starts and the opportunity to experience what FIS racing is all about.  Additional racing opportunities are also available in North America throughout the season.

Training is 3-4 days weekly, running from MSLM opening to the very end of the ski season (early December to end of March)  Our athletes also get several opportunities to train with other FIS programs and at different hills around Ontario.  Out of season on snow training opportunities include Chile in August and British Columbia in November as well as other opportunities in Europe and North America depending on availability and scheduling.

The main objective of the Glacier FIS program is to keep athletes involved in the sport and ski racing longer. Giving every opportunity for them to succeed.
